The Standard ChickenGuard automatically opens your chicken coop door in the morning and closes it at night.  It works simply off an integrated timer.  It protects your chickens from foxes and other predators and saves you the bother of getting up at cock crow or trudging out to the chicken coop on dark and stormy nights.

It comes with a 3 year peace of mind warranty (though they last a lot longer).  We know it works because each unit is tested in the factory in Britain including the electronics.  The Standard ChickenGuard has a timer, which you can set, to activate the chicken coop door mechanism.  It runs on 4 AA batteries and has a warning light to let you know when the batteries are low.  The ChickenGuard simply mounts on the exterior of your chicken coop and is simple to set up with no complicated wiring.  Its user friendly 3 button design and clear LCD display makes it simple to use.  The electronics are enclosed in a weather proof casing.

The Runners

We use a beautiful American red oak handcrafted by local craftsmen to create the runners.  American red oak was chosen due to it’s superior strength & quality when facing the elements.

Without treatment the runners will last between 8 & 10 years.  If you would like to use a wood treatment, a clear wood lacquer is recommended to bring out the detail of oak.  When affixing the runners we send you 6 stainless steel screws. If you want a different color, use brass screws as neither brass nor stainless steel screws rust.

THE CHICKEN COOP DOOR SIZE

Made from aluminium, it’s cut by a local precision metal company out of Allen, Texas.  The laser cut helps to reduce the rough edges that conventional cutting can produce.  Incredibly important when using an automated coop door opener as it reduces the chances of the door snagging on the runners which stops the door itself from opening.
